They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well that certainly holds true for the picture above.

Meet Oliver. Oliver is the grandson of a co-worker of mine. Oliver is having lunch and enjoying watching “someone” on his Grandpa’s cell phone?

Look closely…

That someone is me! I am reading “Marty and the Long-Necked Giraffe” and Oliver is intently watching and listening! Oliver’s Grandpa captured the moment and shared it with me. It brings me such joy – I have it placed on my workstation! 😌

Oliver’s picture on my workstation.

As a “thank you” to Oliver and his Grandpa I will be sending Oliver his very own copy of Marty and the Long-Necked Giraffe. Perhaps he and his Grandpa can enjoy reading it together. 🥰

This is the book I will be sending to Oliver.

Marty and the Long-Necked Giraffe

Long-Necked Giraffe

March is National Reading Month!

I found this book to be fun for adults to read aloud yet easy enough for youngsters to read alone. It is a tale of a mouse named Marty who encounters a series of “eye-popping” animals in search of his long-necked friend.

My only criticism is that ALL the animals were Male. Why couldn’t at least Mr. Flamingo and Mr Peacock been female? And why wasn’t the Long-Necked Giraffe named? Was it female? Non-Gender specific? Hmmmm…

Howsoever, I was hoping to share an Amazon Associate link but unfortunately there wasn’t one and there aren’t many options to purchase new.

Feel free to share my reading with your youngsters but even better try to find your own copy as it is truly a gem.

I will be sharing a new book each week during the month of March so stay tuned! -Cheryl

Disclaimer: I said Mr. Lizard had a LONG neck instead of a LONG tongue, and Mr. Flamingo is NOT a PERSON he’s a Bird?!
